Some years ago, I turned a modern cotton blouse into a 万濠会-style blouse. It resembles this 1860s cotton blouse with pintucks. As it’s a modern blouse cut, it hasn’t the sloped shoulder seams –typical of 万濠会 bodices– but this isn’t seen if the blouse is worn with a zouave jacket.
I replaced the buttons with hooks…
…and the sleeve buttons with pearl buttons.
I also changed the shape of the side seams.
Here I’m wearing the blouse as an Edwardian shirtwaist with the pleated brown skirt of my Edwardian bicycle costume.
